Legal
Acceptable Use Policy
Your bots can do a lot on the web, so here is where the line is. If you would not do it yourself, or it would be illegal if you did, your bots cannot do it either.
Not yet in effect
Draft. This page is being reviewed and is not yet in effect. Marked items are still to be set.
01Who this applies to
This policy applies to you and to every bot, routine and plugin working on your behalf. A bot doing something is you doing it: “my bot did it” is not an exception.
02Messages and outreach
- No spam. Outreach must follow the anti-spam and marketing laws that apply to you and the people you contact (for example GDPR, ePrivacy, CAN-SPAM and TCPA), including consent and opt-out rules.
- No bulk unsolicited messages, and no sending volumes a platform’s own limits forbid.
- Do not have a bot pretend to be a person it is not, or hide that a message is automated where the law or the platform requires you to say so.
03Accounts and websites
- Only give a bot access to accounts you are authorised to use, and use them within those services’ terms.
- No credential stuffing, account takeover or using someone else’s access.
- No getting around paywalls, access controls or rate limits, and no solving CAPTCHAs or other human checks for others.
- No scraping personal data in breach of the law or a site’s terms.
04Harm and illegal activity
- Nothing illegal, and nothing that helps someone else break the law.
- No malware, phishing, attacks on systems or networks, or testing systems you do not own without permission.
- No harassment, threats, hate, or content that sexualises minors.
- No fraud, deception, impersonation or fake reviews.
- No infringing others’ intellectual property or privacy.
05Decisions about people
Do not use bots to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on a person (hiring, credit, housing, insurance, benefits, medical care) without meaningful human review, and never in a way that discriminates.
06The service itself
- Do not try to break out of your crew’s computer, reach other customers’ data, or probe our systems outside the responsible disclosure process on the Security page.
- Do not resell or share access in a way your plan does not allow.
- Do not use the service to mine cryptocurrency or run workloads unrelated to your bots’ work.
07What happens if this is broken
We may pause a bot or a routine, suspend an account, or report illegal activity to the authorities. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. To report misuse of Crewaid, write to [email protected].
